23-year-old Olivia Burton moves to California with her boyfriend, 24-year-old Francis Morales, against the wishes of their family members. Francis’ mother, Lilian, is a devout Catholic who does not approve of her son’s cohabitation and expresses her feelings in the form of violent religious posts. Despite these objections, the young lovers get used to a new, exciting life together. However, their happiness is interrupted when Francis receives physical and moral trauma as a result of a strange accident. Soon he begins to suffer from nightmares: he whispers in his sleep to someone whom Olivia does not see, and wanders in his sleep in strange corners of the house. These attacks frighten Olivia and make her suspect that Francis is hiding something from her.
